Welcome to Spooning, a new online magazine and community for food lovers and armchair gourmands everywhere! Featuring a bounty of stories, recipes, photos, blogs, and more, Spooning reflects a panoply of perspectives on food and cooking. While gourmet magazines and "reality" TV hype a fantasyland of iron chefs, culinary celebs, and glossy perfectionism, Spooning is where to turn for the real scoop: nuggets of wisdom and insight from cooks, travelers, and afficionados who live, shop, and eat in the real world. You don’t have to be gourmet to have taste—we all have a food history, a story to tell, a best-of-the-best recipe or two, unique knowledge that everyone who loves food is hungry for.
Spooning is edited by Califia Suntree, who has cooked, catered, and noshed her way from Los Angeles to New York. Her culinary credits include editing cookbooks at HarperCollins; managing an organic restaurant in Manhattan; and writing a cooking column for Tango magazine. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY where Spooning is based.
